December 09, 2020 (12 pm - 1 pm)Impact of Climate Change on Marine Infrastructure by Dave Pryor

Climate Change has impacted the design of marine structures with both the raw data that is used to determine loads on structures, as well as changing the prevailing guidance, practice and regulation of the design of marine structures. This session will examine the trends in policy and design criteria as influenced by climate change and sea level rise.

Dave Pryor is the Director of Waterfront Engineering for Clark Nexsen. He has developed projects that have addressed the impact of sea level rise, storm waves and coastal flooding throughout Hampton Roads. These projects have ranged from assessing potential flood impacts during hurricanes and nor’easters to the engineering of coastal structures to mitigate damage or inundation.
